The Last Jedi: Evolution of Star Wars

THIS BLOG MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE AND PLAN ON DOING SO I RECOMMEND WATCHING THE MOVIE FIRST.
The Last Jedi has sparked a controversial conversation about the use of the force since its release. The movie hasn't been enjoyed by as many fans as expected because of the ending, but in saying that it has had a great overall rating. I love Star Wars and I really loved the movie and want to watch it again. The use of the force they have presented in the movie will open up more opportunities for future episodes in the series.
In the beginning we open up to the entire resistance fleeing from their home while Rey tries to track down Luke Skywalker to learn more about the force.and discover the truth about Kylo Ren, who we see communicating with her using the force throughout the movie. Shooting further towards the ending, the resistance seem to be in a great struggle with kylo and the first order coming in fast to eradicate the last of the resistance once in for all. Skywalker appears out of the bunker by himself and kylo is determined to battle luke and kill him once and for all.

While the fight commences the resistance escapes through a tunnel to be stopped in their tracks by a wall of boulders, thinking they are trapped inside and seconds from being attacked, Rey arrives with Finn in the millennium falcon and Rey uses the force to lift all boulders out of the way, saving the last of the resistance. Kylo discovers that Luke was just a hologram. We later see luke staring off into the double sunset as he disappears leaving a pile of his clothes behind.

As seen, a lot has gone on to be processed all at once. Rey, someone who has never trained with the force, lifts boulders with ease to free the resistance. Luke suddenly appears to die after he projected himself on Crait to help the resistance escape the first orders attack. And the child that Finn and Rose help to save from the casino planet appears to use the force to retrieve his broom, wearing a ring with a rebellion emblem on it.
Throughout the movie we learn that the force isn't as we expected. The force doesn't end in the skywalker bloodline, but it is within everyone. Even without proper training of the use of the force, it can be used as we see Rey lifting the boulders. The force doesn't hold you to either the light or the dark, we see Kylo and Rey in an action packed scene working together, battling praetorian guards and killing the supreme leader Snoke. Making you believe that once you have been lead down the path of the dark side, it is still possible to redeem yourself and trek onto the path of the light. Rey is seen to be on the verge of following the dark side, greatly seen when she looks into a dark hole on Ahch-to, although she is strong enough to stay on the light.
